Preface
Welcome to the second edition of Financial Accounting and, to adopters of the first edition, thank you for the great success that edition has enjoyed. We wrote this book for today’s business students. It reflects our combined experience in teaching financial accounting to college students at all levels. For anyone who pursues a career in business, the ability to read, analyze, and interpret published financial reports is an essential skill in today’s business environment. Financial Accounting is written for future business leaders who want to understand how financial statements are prepared and how the information in published financial reports is used by investors, creditors, financial analysts, and managers. Our goal is to provide the most up-to-date, engaging, accessible, and useroriented textbook available.
“This book is very well laid out and addresses topics that have high appeal to audiences beyond accounting majors (I think that this is important for an intro text).”
—Matt Anderson, Michigan State University
“Clear, complete and with great end-of-chapter materials.”
—Susan Parker, Santa Clara University
